Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central has congratulated the President of Liberia, George Weah but warned him not to take advice from Nigerian politicians.
Weah was inaugurated in Monrovia, Liberia Capital on Monday amidst dignitaries from across Africa, including Nigeria.
Shortly after the inauguration, Senator Sani took to his twitter handle to advise the new president of the impending peril if he takes advise from Nigerian Government.
He tweeted, “Dear Weah, Don’t take ‘our’ advice, Don’t take ‘our’ manual, Don’t visit here frequently, Don’t allow frequent visits, Take notes from our experiences, And Lead your nation to the future.”
Sani was of the view that the best way Liberia could move forward was to look up to countries that had got it right but not the self-acclaimed giant of Africa that had failed to address its major economic challenges.
It must be noted here that Nigeria had played a prominent role in ensuring peace in Liberia. Nigeria troops were on ground during the guerrilla warfare in Liberia that removed the former President Samuel Doe.
Also, the coming of Weah to political space had hands of Nigeria former President Olusegun Obasanjo who advised him to go and improve his academic to stand a better chance of leading the country.
Weah took the advice of Obasanjo and today, he has reaped from it.
